Kenyans question credibility of Politrack polls as Nabii Nabwera ranked ahead of Ndindi Nyoro

A section of Kenyans has raised concerns over the credibility of the latest Politrack Africa opinion poll after Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera was ranked the second best-performing Member of Parliament in the country.

In the poll, Nabwera was placed just behind Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and ahead of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, who has consistently ranked among the top performers in previous surveys. Nabwera tied in the second position with Mavoko MP Patrick Makau.

The rankings have sparked debate online and among residents, with some questioning whether the results accurately reflect performance on the ground. Critics have expressed skepticism about the methodology of such polls, with some alleging possible manipulation.

“What it means in layman’s language: Ndindi Nyoro should come for benchmarking in Lugari on how it should be done, Fuchaka Weko, a resident, sarcastically commented.

Despite the doubts, Nabwera’s supporters in Lugari Constituency have welcomed the recognition, pointing to his development initiatives as evidence of his performance. The first-term MP has gained attention through his Ondoa Matope initiative, which focuses on upgrading school infrastructure by replacing mud-walled or dilapidated classrooms with modern, often multi-storey buildings.

Meanwhile, Ndindi Nyoro, who was ranked third in the latest poll, has been widely recognized for his efforts in improving education and infrastructure in Kiharu Constituency, contributing to his consistent strong showing in past rankings.

Nabwera, represented by his Parliamentary Personal Assistant, Odari Mayodi, was also named the best-performing first-time MP at the Politrack Starleaders Awards held at Serena Hotel on Friday.

The MP welcomed the award, describing it as a reflection of the work being done in the constituency.

“This honour reflects the impactful transformation we continue to drive within Lugari,” Nabwera said.

“I sincerely appreciate the unwavering support of the people of Lugari. Being ranked the best-performing first-time MP and the second best-performing Member of Parliament across the country is no mean achievement,” he added.
