Munyuki vs Talent School Lugari Sub-County boys’ football final abandoned after fan interference

The Lugari Sub-County KSSSA 2026 boys’ football final between Munyuki Secondary School and Talent School Musembe has been abandoned just before the end of regular time following fan interference, with the match still deadlocked at 0-0.

The highly anticipated clash was halted amid rising tension in the stands, forcing match officials to stop proceedings for safety and regulatory reasons.

According to Muyanda Benson, the Lugari Sub-County KSSSA Organizing Secretary, the decision to abandon the match was also influenced by regulations set by the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA), which prohibit matches from extending beyond 6:00 PM.

He further confirmed that the fixture will now be replayed from the start at a neutral venue and behind closed doors, with fans barred from attendance to ensure order and fair play.

“The venue and date for the replay will be communicated later,” he stated.

The winner of the replay will represent Lugari Sub-County at the county-level championships scheduled to take place in Mumias between June 17 and June 20, 2026, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education school sports framework.
