A businessman was found murdered at his business premises in Nangili Market, Kongoni Ward, Likuyani Constituency, in the early hours of Monday, October 13, 2026.
The deceased, identified as Anthony Malungu, was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants at around 3 a.m., according to his family. His father, Wycliffe Malungu, said the family received news of the attack and rushed to the scene, where they found Anthony dead.
The family further revealed that the businessman had reportedly received threats from unknown individuals and had reported the matter to Nangili Police Station. However, they claimed that no action was taken following the report.
Nangili village administrator Rose Kangwa expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation at the market following the killing.
Residents and local leaders have condemned the incident and called for thorough investigations to establish the motive behind the murder and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
