Musingu crush Kakamega School’s revenge dream in semi-final thriller

Musingu School once again proved why they remain one of the most feared sides in school football after overcoming arch-rivals Kakamega School in a tense KSSSA 2026 Kakamega County boys’ football semi-final at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday.

The highly anticipated clash lived up to its billing as the two football giants battled fiercely for a place in the county final. With both teams enjoying strong support from their fans, the match was characterized by intense midfield battles, tactical discipline, and several goal-scoring opportunities.

Musingu, or the Scorpions, displayed resilience and composure under pressure to emerge victorious and eliminate Kakamega School’s Green Commandos from the competition.

Opiyo opened the scoring with a clinical finish before Shabaan doubled the advantage moments later early in the first half, leaving the Green Commandos with an uphill task as the Scorpions took firm control of the contest.

The win extended Musingu’s dominance in county football and kept alive their hopes of reclaiming the county title.

Kakamega School had entered the semi-final in fine form after a commanding quarter-final performance, but they found a determined Musingu side unwilling to surrender. Despite their spirited efforts, the Green Commandos were unable to find a breakthrough as Musingu held firm to secure their place in the final.

The victory sparked celebrations among Musingu supporters, who will now turn their attention to the final as the Scorpions seek another county football crown. Meanwhile, Kakamega School will be left to reflect on a missed opportunity in what was another dramatic chapter of one of Kakamega County’s fiercest school football rivalries.
