Passenger dies after medical emergency on Kenya Airways flight to Lagos

A passenger died after suffering a medical emergency aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Lagos on Tuesday night, October 6, 2026.

Kenya Airways said the passenger was found unresponsive approximately 20 minutes before the aircraft was scheduled to land in Lagos. The emergency occurred at around 9:20 p.m. local Nigerian time.

The airline said its crew immediately administered first aid in accordance with their training and followed the required emergency procedures.

The aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 9:41 p.m., where it was met by medical personnel.
