DCI launches denied entry into Tuju’s home as probe into his disappearance begins

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations into the reported disappearance of former CS Raphael Tuju following a missing person report filed at Karen Police Station.

Tuju was reported missing by his family on Sunday. His vehicle was later found abandoned along Miotoni Lane in Karen, with its hazard lights still on. Authorities were alerted by a security guard from a nearby institution, prompting officers from Karen Police Station to respond swiftly.

The scene was processed by crime scene investigators before the vehicle was towed to the station for forensic examination.

Efforts to trace Tuju have so far been unsuccessful, with officials noting that his mobile phone remains switched off. The DCI has since deployed a specialized team to handle the case, working in coordination with other government agencies to establish his whereabouts. Investigators are also applying various forensic and investigative techniques to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

However, the agency revealed that attempts by detectives to access Tuju’s residence along Mwitu Drive were denied by family members. The DCI has urged all parties to cooperate fully, including granting unrestricted access to relevant locations and providing timely information to aid the investigation.

Members of the public who may have information about Tuju’s whereabouts, or who may have seen him, his vehicle, or any suspicious activity in the Miotoni Lane area or greater Nairobi before, on, or after March 21, 2026, have been encouraged to come forward.

Information can be shared confidentially through the DCI toll-free line or via WhatsApp, or reported at the nearest police station.

The DCI stated that investigations are ongoing and that further updates will be provided as significant developments emerge.
