Shock Vihiga as man dies by suicide in mother’s kitchen

A middle-aged man from Magui Inoko Village in Vihiga County has reportedly died by suicide following a family dispute involving his mother.

The man is said to have taken his own life in the family kitchen. The tragedy comes less than two months after the family lost its patriarch, compounding the grief already facing the household.

Reports further indicate that the deceased’s brother is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted of robbery with violence. He was found guilty in connection with an assault on Archbishop Munekane.

Photos obtained by WKT show the man’s body wrapped in a blanket as residents looked on during its removal from the scene.

Police officers visited the scene and commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the death before the body was moved to a local mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
