The headteacher of a local school has come out to urge well-wishers to come through for children from needy families who performed well in the KCPE 2021 in his school.
Mr. Protus Sisa, the head of Macho Primary School in Lugari, says the candidates have great potential only if they are supported to the required level.
“I’m appealing to well-wishers to chip in and help these pupils who performed well because they want to learn, but their families are unable to support them,” he told the Western Kenya Times’ Tom Lutali by phone.
At his school, out of the 120 candidates who sat the exam, 40 scored 300 and above, while 80 got 250 marks or above.
The school, which had the highest number of candidates in the sub-county, saw a positive deviation of 3.70 from last year’s KCPE 2020 record, which pulled up the min score to 271.30.
“These good results are due to the effort from teachers, the board of management, and the community at large. We welcome anyone willing to support us,” he said.
