Bungoma: Shock as man ‘who was buried’ comes back from abroad

The man disappeared in 2019 and his family though he was dead.

Residents of Kamukuywa Village in, Kimilili Sub-county, Bungoma, were left in shock after a man thought to have died and was buried reappeared.

The man, known as Wanjala, was thought to be the one who was buried after his body was found mutilated beyond recognition. This is when his family went to identify it at a Webuye mortuary in 2021, thinking it was of their kin who had disappeared.

The body was buried despite one family member raising doubt but was opposed by a majority, only to learn on August 29th that the family member was right.

Mr. Wanjala shockingly revealed that he had traveled abroad and was now back, a statement supported by his mother who said her son regularly traveled outside Kenya for a period of not more than two months but he disappeared in 2019.

This is sad. Family members should have conducted a DNA test rather than just rushing to burry an unknown body. Now they have to perform a ritual to appease the gods.
