Kakamega County Deputy Governor-elect, Ayub Savula, is a proud man after clinching victory in the concluded gubernatorial election which saw Fernandes Barasa of ODM trounce his closest opponent, Cleophas Malala of ANC.
Mr. Savula took to social media to thank voters from Lugari Constituency, where he served as MP for two terms, for overwhelmingly coming out to support his bid.
Savula, as an appreciation, promised to deliver on his promises to the people of Lugari.
“Thank you Lugari for the great support, victory is finally home, it’s now time to deliver on the promises we made and make Kakamega County greater,” he posted on Facebook.
Barasa and Savula won in Lugari Constituency with 33,611 votes against 20,280 votes of Cleophas Malala. The duo managed to win in four out of the six wards in the constituency.
Mr. Savula, during his campaigns, promised a number of goodies to the people of Lugari, including creating opportunities for the youth, improving the road network in the area, boosting healthcare through the 100-bed capacity facilities per ward, and bursaries for students from needy families.
Barasa and Savula will officially take over from Wycliffe Oparanya after their swearing-in slated for September 15th.
