Teacher Moses Gazemba, who was reported missing on Thursday evening, has reportedly “found himself” alive in Kampala, Uganda, according to a statement by his newly found Youths for Ruto (YURO) “secretariat.”
In a statement, YURO announced that its founder had been found, thanking members who prayed for him and shared information about his disappearance, as well as “police and other security agencies who helped us” in the search.
“Mr. Gazemba will speak to us soon,” the statement added.
Gazemba’s reported disappearance came amid claims by colleagues that he had received threats from a local politician. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and how he ended up in Uganda had not been established by the time of publication.
The teacher recently attracted public attention after appearing on the front page of The Standard following an incident at the newspaper’s headquarters in Nairobi, where he, alongside colleagues Sally Raghet and Nicholas Kiplagat, protested what he considered unfair coverage of President William Ruto’s administration.
Gazemba has publicly supported President Ruto’s political agenda and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa’s re-election bid. He has also been a vocal critic of Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera and has campaigned against his re-election.
