A journalist in Bungoma is coming to terms with an incident in which his house was bombed while he was inside.
The scribe, Francis Kasaya, 35, was in his house when unknown people bombed it, leading to the destruction of household items including sofa sets, a fridge, a TV screen, and a woofer, among others.
The bomb is suspected to be a molotov cocktail, which is made by filling a bottle with petrol or other liquid flammable, tying it with a piece of cloth and setting it on fire.
The incident happened after Kasaya allegedly had a confrontation with a local politician over an issue yet to be known. The politician had warned the journalist after accusing him of blackmail on social media.
Neighbors came to his rescue after hearing a loud bang and put out the fire using water.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations reported the incident and took photos and other evidence as investigations continue.
