Police are investigating an incident in which a man in Changamwe Village of Kulumbeni Sub-location in Matete, Kakaemega County, killed his 84-year-old uncle after accusing him of witchcraft.
Chevaywa location chief Alex Goricho said Wamunga Neulula (34), the suspect, attacked his uncle Abdi Ekesa Muya (84) with a machete, killing him on the spot.
This is after the suspect had accused the octogenerian of bewitching his marriage.
The rogue man went after his wife at his in-law’s home with the intention of killing her too, but he couldn’t find her.
He then dumped the machete in his father-in-law’s compound before he surrendered himself to area assistant chief Manasseh Watambala, who alerted police officers from Sango Police Patrol Base.
The officers arrested him and took him to Lumakanda Police Station.
The deceased’s body is lying in the Webuye Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
