A 40-year-old man died on Sunday evening after a tractor he was driving overturned and crushed him in the Shinyalu area in Lumakanda Ward, Lugari Sub-county.
According to a witness, the man by the name of Ken Rubia from Bahati in Lumakanda was going to load stones for transportation from the home of a man known as Lukoye to an unknown place.
“The tractor’s gears failed before the plant started reversing. The driver jumped for safety but he was hit and crashed to death,” the witness said.
The witness added that the man died after the heavy farm machine lay on his chest.
His body was taken by Lumakanda Police Station officers to Kimnilio Mortuary, the witness said.
