IEBC announces date for the Bungoma County senatorial by-election

The seat was left vacant after Moses Wetang’ula resigns to take up the National Assembly Speaker post.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced December 8, 2022, as the dates for by-elections in six electoral units, including that for the senatorial seat in Bungoma County.

The Bungoma senatorial seat was left vacant after the then Senator-elect Moses Masika Wetang’ula resigned for the National Assembly Speaker position.

Other areas where leaders resigned to take up new positions in the cabinet and government are Mumias North in Kakamega County, Utawala Ward in Nairobi County, South Gem Ward in Siaya County, Ololmasani Ward in Narok County and Kyome/Thaana Ward in Kitui County.
