Six people have been confirmed dead in a grisly road accident that involved a tractor and a matatu at Maili Tisa along the Eldoret-Turbo highway.
Police said the accident occurred on Wednesday night after an 11-seater matatu ran into a tractor that was driving without headlights.
A parastatal vehicle also crashed on the matatu from the rear.
The matatu was bound for Kitale from Nairobi.
Others sustained severe injuries. Members of the public rushed to the scene to attend to the survivors.
