The mass protests organized by the Azimio coalition have witnessed organized goons raiding the property of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and a business linked to his ally Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Several media outlets reported that dozens of unknown people raided the Northern Farm Kenyatta family-owned land along the Eastern Bypass, Ruiru, and destroyed property.
The group, armed with power saws and machetes, felled a number of trees before escaping with an unknown number of sheep from there after gaining access from the Kamakis side via the busy bypass.
Many believe the invasion on the Sh500 billion worth land was organized by those opposed to the Monday and Thursday protests organized by opposition leader Raila Odinga after some senior government officials tweeted about the farm and invasion before they deleted the same.
Hours later after the incident was reported, unknown people invaded the Odinga family-linked East Africa Spectre Limited along Mombasa Road and destroyed property.
Spectre manufactures and distributes gas cylinders.
The two raids come at a moment when the country is under tension from the ongoing mass protests that seek the attention of government over the cost of living.
The police Inspector General Japhet Koome declared the protests illegal and vowed to arrest anyone involved.
