Khumuseno Primary School in Mwitakho Sub-location in Vihiga County convened prayers on Friday to cast out demons in the pupils.
Okaka Amos, the chief of Mukhalakhala Location in Luanda Sub-County, said pupils in the school showed signs of being possessed, fell down, and broke into a run.
“We decided to call parents for a special prayer and talk to them about other ways to contain the situation so that our children can continue with their studies in a normal way,” he said.
The PAG church, which sponsors the school, led the prayers in the presence of members of the board of management.
The chief emphasized that such happenings start at home before escalating in school.
“I encourage parents to embrace spiritual growth. It is not a must to be a member of a denomination, but it is important to be close to your creator to escape such challenges,” he said.
He also advised parents to make good use of the Internet, which he suspected was one of the things contributing to what was being witnessed at the school.
“The Internet and media have a lot of information that is manipulative and leads to abuse of young children,” he added.
The administrator encouraged parents to be close to their kids so as to detect any problems and seek immediate assistance from the government, the church, and teachers.
