Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has made several changes in his cabinet.
The Governor has suspended Housing and Urban Development Chief Officer Patrick Butichi and appointed Faith Gitira to the post.
In the internal memo dated May 30, 2023, the Governor has also moved Mrs. Peninah Mukabane to the Department of Water, Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change, previously held by Dr. Mariam Barasa, who now takes over the Lands, Housing, Urban Development, and Physical Planning docket.
Ms. Faith Gitira, the immediate former Chief Officer for Lands Administration, Survey, and Physical Planning, has taken over from Mr. Patrick Butichi, who has been suspended with immediate effect.
Dr. Jeophita Mwajuma has been assigned extra responsibilities and will now be in charge of the Finance and Budget docket.
Mr. Joseph Lutilo, the immediate former Chief Officer for E-government and Communication, has relinquished the former Department to Mr. Phanuel Musasia, who will now be in charge of ICT and E-government.
CPA Samson Otieno takes over the Economic Planning and Investment Department as Chief Officer as his predecessor, CPA David Msafiri Kulova, moves to the Department of Lands Administration, Survey, and Physical Planning in the same capacity.
