A well-wisher has donated 300 trees to Lake Basin Primary School in Lugari Ward in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, as the community’s efforts to help the school back on its feet gain momentum.
Bernard Namisi, a local farmer and businessman at Panpaper Market, said he was touched by the school’s situation after reading about it on WKT.
“I have decided to come up with this tree-planting program so that this school can rise to be a better environment for learning. It’s so much exposed to the sun and this escalates the already worsening situation,” Mr. Namisi said.
The well-wisher said he is doing it out of goodwill as a concerned citizen and not for political gains.
He urged other community members to bring their support and help the school rise to the required standards.
Namisi’s help comes a few days after other two well-wishers donated posts, trees, and two rolls of barbed wire as a show of support for the school that’s sinking into despair.
