MCA bashed for building a ‘decent house’ for his constituent

A member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Banja Ward in Vihiga County, Collins Anyanje Ayugu, has received criticism for constructing a semi-permanent house for one of his constituents.

In a Facebook post, residents bashed the MCA, accusing him of trying to mock the less fortunate family by putting up a structure almost similar to the one they have been staying in.

The post, shared in a group, was trying to highlight the MCA’s compassion towards Mzee Zablon Atamba and his family, who have been living in a small, dilapidated, mud-walled structure.

While some applauded the ward rep for his efforts, others felt he would have done better or nothing at all.

“What’s the difference between the two houses?” Allan Lihamba asked.
