ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has urged Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera to address a concern that could pose a challenge on his leadership.
Etale, during an interview with WKT at the Lugari NG-CDF Football Tournament finals at St Paul’s Lugari Boys High School on January 10, 2024, applauded Nabwera for his commendable work since he took over leadership of the constituency.
“We’ve not seen such a focused leader and who can organise such a tournament. I voted for him and it was the first time I was casting my vote in Lugari,” he said.
While acknowledging the incumbent for his efforts in improving education standards and fostering talent through sports, Etale urged him to broaden his focus beyond education and treat all residents equally.
“I see his dedication to education, which is commendable. However, there are concerns about neglect in other wards. I encourage him to address those and explore additional developmental areas,” Etale remarked.
Etale also addressed speculations surrounding his potential candidacy for the Lugari parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections.
“It’s too early to confirm whether I’ll vie or not, as it’s only been (barely) a year since the previous election. We’ll cross the bridge when we come across it.”
