Fear has engulfed Mavanga Village in Sirende Sub-Location in Lugari Ward in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, after the body of an unidentified man was found floating on River Nzoia.
Confirming the incident, Lugari Location Chief Shadrach Miheso said the body was discovered at around 2:40 p.m. today by people who were harvesting sand near a bridge joining Lugari and Kibisi in the neighboring Bungoma County.
“They tied the body and immediately informed the OCS at Lugari Franks Police Station. Police retrieved the body from the river and took it to the mortuary,” Mr. Miheso said.
The administrator added that the body is yet to be identified and that the man may not be a resident of the area.
Police have taken the body to the Webuye Sub-County Mortuary for postmortem and identification as police continue with investigations.
