A popular doctor from Bungoma has elicited mixed reactions on X after claiming he favoured a baby boy during the delivery of twins through C-Section (CS).
Dr. Mbiti Mwondi posted on X that he intentionally extracted the baby boy first so that he’d have the privilege of being born ahead of his twin sister.
“A few minutes ago 2:00 am in theatre via CS, I just extracted the most beautiful twins I have ever seen; a boy and girl. I intentionally extracted the baby boy first so that he’d be called the elder one of the two. Boy child for boy child,” the doctor’s post read on X.
The doctor later deleted the post after he was overwhelmed by criticism.
Other medics, however, came to his defence, saying they understood that he was trying to make a joke that just didn’t go well.
“You can’t choose which gender to extract first in a twin pregnancy. It is not possible. Let’s not speculate about that. Dr. Mbiti made a foul joke, & his mistake was doubling down when he should have withdrawn & apologised. This is for all the mothers out there who might have gotten worried by that post. The presenting twin is extracted first,” posted a user known us Dr. Strange.
