Lugari MP Ayub Savula says he will transform Kakamega town into a city once he is elected governor in the August 9 general elections.
Speaking in a video in which he outlines what he has done for Lugari Constituency, Savula said this will be his first agenda in the first four years if elected.
“Now that I have the blessings of the people of Lugari for what I have done for them, my first priority is to make Kakamega a city in the next four years… a city like Nairobi, a city like Mombasa, a city like Dubai,” he said.
The lawmaker said this will attract investors to Kakamega town.
“That town has only one major component of income generation, that is Masinde Muliro University. There is no factory in Kakamega, I want to create an industrial town where we will attract investors,” he said.
Savula, who will vie on the DAP-K party ticket, will face off with Kenya Kwanza Alliance candidate Cleophas Malala and ODM aspirant Fernandes Barasa.
