We all know that education has a great impact on a person’s life. Unfortunately, when you utter the word education, many will only think of teachers and students in school. Parents have abandoned their role of taking care of their children and teaching them about virtues and values in life.
This, as a result, has heaved a heavy burden on the teachers struggling to enlighten and instill discipline in learners in school.
Mind you, a child’s education starts at home at a very early stage by the parents before they hand them over to the teachers.
During the enrolment of students in schools, parents tend to think that the end of their burden is over. They relax and focus on other things, assuming that taking care of and educating their children is insignificant to them. Teachers are now forced to take the role of parents to ensure the behaviors of children are at per to enable good academic performance.
The future of our children is supposed to be built by all of us, not only teachers. Parents should communicate with teachers about the well-being of their children, even when they are in school.
When teachers give children homework, parents should be close to ensure he/she is doing well and understand the rate of his/her knowledge about the subject. This will enable them to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of your child. They should also ask the teachers where the problem is and what might be the best solution.
Lastly, parents need to create a good rapport with teachers, which will lead to a proper way of disciplining children and guaranteeing their success.
