An aspiring MCA from Matisi Ward has baffled many after he walked to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices at the Kitale National Museum for clearance wearing sackcloth.
Wamocha Wekesi, 24, an ICT expert, narrated to the Western Kenya Times how locals have been facilitating his campaign through small contributions to ease his movement in the ward.
When asked why he had put on the sack, Wekesi said someone had promised him a suit but failed to keep the promise.
He also said he was doing it as a sign of humility.
Tony Wekesi urged Matisi electorates to consider him in the next general election as their Member of the County Assembly so that he can lift the living standards of the people of Matisi through an empowerment program.
He said if elected, he will ensure every household is connected to tap water, apart from ensuring health facilities are well equipped.
In terms of education, Wekesi stated that he will use participatory leadership to find a solution that will allow only vulnerable students from low-income families to benefit from bursary allocation.
