Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, who is the Kenya Kwanza presidential flagbearer and Azimio La Umoja Raila Odinga’s running mate, Martha Wangari Karua have cast their votes as polls open this morning.
DP Ruto voted at Kosachei Primary, a school near his home in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County accompanied by his wife Rachel Ruto while Ms. Karua cast hers at Mugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga County.
Polling stations across the country have experienced long queues hours before the polls opened.
The polling stations will officially close at 5 PM and those caught in the queue by that time will be allowed to vote.
One needs to present their original voter’s ID or passport before they are allowed to vote.
