Andrew Wanyonyi floors Kenya Kwanza’s Wesley Korir to win the Trans Nzoia County Speaker race

The voting was conducted this morning.

Andrew Wanyonyi has floored Wesley Korir of Kenya Kwanza to be elected as the third Speaker of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly.

Wanyonyi was declared the winner by Trans Nzoia County Assembly Speaker clerk Moses Lupao after garnering 20 votes against the 13 votes received by Korir.

In the exercise conducted this morning, Wanyonyi scooped 19 votes in the first round against 14 for Korir, and the voting went to the second round after they failed to meet the two-thirds constitutional threshold.

Matisi Ward, MCA Obed Mwale was elected Deputy Speaker.
