David Ndege, who used to attend school as a day scholar, is the top candidate at St. Augustine’s Mlimani Mixed Secondary School after scoring an A- (minus) in the just released KCPE 2022.
Other two candidates scored B+ (plus).
David, who emerged best in his class of 253 candidates, said he was expecting to score highly after working hard and doing well in mock exams.
“I dedicate these results to my teachers, my mother and my friends who have been so close to me. I thank God also for answering my prayers,” he told WKT on phone.
His mother, Pamela Makungu, who sells vegetables and fruits at Sokomoko Market in Lugari Ward, said it has not been easy because her husband is paralyzed after suffering a stroke which led to him losing his job at the Mumias Sugar Company and later as a cook.
Therefore, Pamela has been educating her son with the little money she receives from her business.
David’s dream is to work in the medical field and support her family.
