Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has been crowned a member of the Executive Council of the Western Region Elders in a meeting that brought together leaders and elders from the larger Mulembe community.
The aim of the meeting, which was held at the home of council chair Mzee Philip Masinde, was to foster economic and political stability in the region.
“The political leadership, elders and the people of the larger Western Kenya Region have resolved to walk together as a region and foster peace and unity as a key milestone towards achieving political stability and economic growth,” Mudavadi tweeted.
“We will take stock of our collective resources, tap into areas of economic prosperity & look at new frontiers that will open avenues for job creation, agricultural & industrial revolution, businesses, better healthcare, security & quality education for betterment of this region.”
Busia governor Paul Otuoma and King Peter Nabongo Mumia II are also present in the event that attracted over 500 elders.
