Lugari Constituency remains among the poorest-performing constituencies in Kakamega County, based on the statistics from the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results in 2023.
The constituency has an average mean score of 4.08, placing it only ahead of Malava Constituency (3.98) and Khwisero (2.17).
Butere Constituency leads with a mean score of 8.34, followed by Mumias East with 6.80, and Shinyalu with 6.01. These constituencies have demonstrated higher educational performance compared to Lugari.
Despite its lower ranking, Lugari Constituency has shown improvement from the last position it held in the KCSE 2022. The positive change is attributed to the efforts of the area’s Member of Parliament, Nabii Nabwera, who has been working tooth and nail not only to revamp infrastructure but also motivate teachers and learners to achieve better results.
