Barasa now ahead of Malala in the Kakamega race – Latest poll

Malala has been leading in the previous polls

Kakamega County gubernatorial aspirant for ODM, Fernandes Barasa, is leading in popularity according to the latest poll by Mizani Africa.

Barasa has 48.9%, ahead of his closest rival from Kenya Kwanza, Senator Cleophas Malala, who has 42.3%. Other gubernatorial aspirants are sharing 1.6% as 7.2% remain undecided.

In the same poll that was conducted between 24th to 26th May and sponsored by Mizani Soft Africa, Elsie Muhanda is leading the Women Representative race with 38.1%, followed by Naomi Shiyonga who has 32.6%. Hadijah Nganyi comes third with 16.2% followed by Connie Lusweti with 8.2%, Peninah Mukabane with 2.4%, and Loice Agoi with 1.5%.

The poll shows that 1% are undecided.

Bonny Khalwale is leading in the senatorial race with 61.4% followed at a distance by Brian Lishenga who has 35.2%. Other aspirants share 0.6% as 2.8% remain undecided.

The poll, which was conducted by telephone, involved a sample size of 1,068 potential voters distributed proportionately across 12 constituencies in Kakamega County and had a confidence level of 95%.
