Three people have been confirmed dead in a grisly road accident at Miti Mbili near Turbo town along the Eldoret-Webuye highway after a trailer overturned on a matatu carrying passengers in full capacity.
Uasin Gishu police boss Ayub Gitonga told the media that a Nissan Matatu crashed into a lorry that was heading to Webuye by the rear before another one from Webuye stopped at the scene but was rammed by another lorry speeding to Eldoret.
Mr. Gitonga added that the second lorry pushed the matatu into a ditch and fell on it, trapping passengers and injuring more than 10 people who have been rushed to hospital.
Rescue operations have already commenced trying to ease the traffic jam that’s building near the scene.
On Saturday night, three people died in another accident after a boda boda, a tractor and a 14-seater matatu collided at Matunda-Sikhendu Bridge.
