John Mukulo, a candidate in the Lugari Ward Member of the County Assembly race, stepped up in fashion to repair the section of a neglected road.
Mr. Mukulo teamed up with Manyonyi Bodaboda chairman Kevin Lichodi to request the manager of Simba Quarry, Mr. Rameesh, to help them repair a section of the road connecting Manyonyi Primary School.
Mr. Rameesh accepted an offer of Sh40,000 to do a 100-meter fill-up of potholes and repair the drainage to make the road passable to students and locals.
Mr. Mukulo, who is trying out a political seat for the first time, supervised the work in person on Sunday.

“I thank the management of Simba Quarry for listening to us and joining to solve the stalemate. I also thank Manyonyi Bodaboda, led by their chairman, Kevin Lichodi, for working with me towards this course,” he told the Western Kenya Times.
The young politician said improving the ward’s infrastructure is one of the pillars of his manifesto.
“God willing, under my administration, I shall ensure our infrastructure is in good condition. I will work with all stakeholders to ensure our roads are passable,” he said.
Mr. Mukulo is facing off with 19 others in a race to succeed Musa Wangila Makhapila as Lugari’s second MCA.
