Oparanya and Barasa accuse Malala of bribing voters

The two leaders want the IEBC and security agancies to be keen.

Kakamega gubernatorial aspirant for ODM, Fernandes Barasa, and outgoing governor Wycliffe Oparanya have accused ANC candidate, Cleophas Malala, of bribing voters in the ongoing election.

Barasa, while speaking to journalists after casting his vote at Bulimbo Primary School Polling Station while accompanied by his wife Prof. Janet Kasilly Barasa, has pointed out Malala for getting involved in dishing handouts to voters notably in polling stations in Matungu.

“There’s a lot of voter bribery, which in my opinion is an election offense. I want to urge IEBC and all the security agencies to make sure they take action so that people can vote transparently without intimidation,” Barasa said.

Earlier on Oparanya, while dismissing claims of endorsing Malala on a Facebook post on his page that has gone viral, said he visited several polling stations and noted massive voter bribery incidences.
