Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera has promised Sh20,000 to any student in his constituency that gets a mean grade of ‘A’ (plain) in the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam.
The lawmaker said this while addressing students of Chekalini Secondary School in Chekalini Ward on Monday, where he called by as he seeks to upscale education in the constituency.
The MP is making the pledge in a bid to encourage students to work hard and boost education levels in the constituency.
Mr. Nabwera met with members of the Board of Management (BOM) and teachers to inquire about why the school records poor performance and low enrollment.
Chekalini Secondary School, one of the oldest in Lugari Constituency, has gained disapproval from the community owing to its performance that has run low in the recent exams.
Nabii is up to implementing several policies that’ll see schools in the region awaken to compete at national levels.
He’s going to ensure this through awarding bursaries to students from less fortunate families and building worthy infrastructure in schools.
