Lugari woman wins Sh2 million after participating in promotional gambling competition

The woman said she’ll give part of the money as tithe.

A woman from Lugari Constituency in Kakamega County has won Sh2 million after participating in a promotional gambling competition organized by the Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL).

Modestar Sitambasi, who likes drinking at a pub in Malava Sub-County, was among the five gamblers who have been participating in the “Shikisha Form na Senator Ushinde” competition sponsored by the alcoholic brand.

“I’m really grateful; I didn’t expect to be one of the lucky winners,” she exclaimed, her delight palpable.

Monicah, a mother of four, said she consistently participated in the competition despite friends’ and family members’ advice that she stop wasting her money.

Shitambasi and the other four winners received a Sh1 million cheque. The remaining Sh1 million will be set aside for investment in their community and themselves.

When she was named the winner, she stated that she would invest the money in investment projects that would allow her to generate income, pay school fees for her children, and also pay tithe.

“First of all, I must give God his share; then, I have four children, and two of them are candidates, so I will be able to pay their fees without any problem,” she said.

Steve Shitanda from KBL said the promotional gambling competition seeks to improve the lives of loyal customers and their communities across the country.

“This was our second campaign since last year, and we have seen the impact that the first campaign had on our consumers, especially the community development projects,” he said.
