A 26-year-old man in Ikolomani in Kakamega County has succumbed to the injuries he suffered after being gored by a bull in a bull-fighting competition.
Bramweli Andungu was attending the cultural function at Malinya when one of the competing bulls charged towards him and knocked him down, leading to severe injuries.
His father Maurice Andungu confirmed the incident and said his son died after being rushed at the Kakamega Referral Hospital.
“He was struck by a bull during one of the fights pitting ‘Nandi’ against ‘Power’. One of the bulls charged towards his direction before goring him,” a witnesses said as reported by Citizen Digital.
The family of the deceased want proper measures put in place to ensure the safety of the crowd during the competitions.
