The principal of Mitua Girls High School in Bungoma County, which topped Tongaren Constituency in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams (KCSE), has noted that proper management is the key to success in exams.
The principal, Angeline Kosgei, spoke yesterday after receiving bursary cheques from the area Member of Parliament, Hon. John Chikati. Mrs. Kosgei took pride in managing an institution of over 1500 students that has, over the years, been built on traditions and culture that revolves around success.
The school garnered a mean score of 7.56, with 258 students securing direct entry to public universities.

“Our school has been on an upward trend for a couple of years,” observed Ms. Kosgey. “This is a very hot seat and also exciting, but very demanding, bearing in mind that we must produce better results every year,” she added.
Asked about her vision for the school, the principal said she intends to produce brilliant, disciplined and God-fearing
students.
She further noted that the culture of excelling every year pushes the next class to do even better because no one wants to be a letdown, and that makes management easy.
She heaped praise on her teaching staff, board of management, parents, and the school community, saying the school’s good performance did not come as a surprise to her.
“We are optimistic of defeating academic giants in Bungoma county next year and we are working hard to become position one,” said the principal.
