Residents of Lutacho Village in Webuye East Sub-County, Bungoma County, are in shock after she allegedly killed his 42-year-old brother, identified as Aggrey, after arguing over food.
Webuye Sub-County Deputy Police Commander Irene Kerubo said they received the report of the incident that happened at around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Their father, Shadrack Mukoyani, said the deceased arrived home in the evening of Tuesday and demanded that his younger, 18-year-old sister, Josephine Nasimiyu, give him ugali which she was preparing before an argument ensued.
The man allegedly took a piece of firewood and started whipping her before her 30-year-old sister, identified as Diana, heard the commotion and intervened.
Diana allegedly grabbed another piece and hit him on the head, killing him instantly.
“Blood was oozing from his ears and mouth,” Ms. Kerubo said.
Police were deployed to arrest the two sisters and took them to the Webuye Police Station, where they are being held for investigation before they are arraigned in court.
The body of the disease lies at the Webuye Sub-County Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
Ms. Kerubo has urged family members to find solutions to conflicts in healthy ways instead of taking the law into their own hands.
