Mautuma residents call on area MP to intervene after a two-week power outage

Residents said the power failure has paralyzed business activities.

Residents of Saisi village in Mautuma Ward, Lugari Constituency, are calling on the area MP, Nabii Nabwera, to intervene after their businesses were paralyzed following a power blackout that has persisted for two weeks now.

A resident identified as Governor Bob said their attempts to contact Kenya Power have failed.

The outage was caused by an electric pole that broke and collapsed, disconnecting the main line.

“We have tried to call the operation and maintenance team, but they are yet to respond,” Governor Bob said.
