Supporters of Arsenal FC from Lugari Constituency in Kakamega County spent quality time with hearing-impaired children at Mlimani Special School for the Deaf in Mautuma Ward on Friday.
The gooners, who form the Arsenal Lugari Youth Group, marked the day by cooking, cleaning and planting trees as a gesture of love for the children and as a continuation of their efforts to empower the community.
The passionate Gunners also enjoyed bonding with the children through games and imparting knowledge on tree planting.
“Our programs target the less privileged, people who require utmost love and attention. It has been a special day for us and we are happy to see smiles on the faces of the children,” said Peter Masinde, the chairman.
Peter emphasised their dedication to sustaining such initiatives and appealed to the community for support.
The group, which has been together for about two years now, was recently feted by the County Government of Kakamega for their relentless efforts in conserving the environment through a program that saw them plant more than 4,000 trees across Lugari Constituency.
As Arsenal maintain their lead in the Premier League with 64 points, they face strong competition from Liverpool FC and Manchester City, underscoring the intensity of the ongoing season.
