The latest poll by the Western Kenya Times shows that most voters in Lugari Ward in Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County, would choose a youthful Member of the County Assembly (MCA) if elections were to be held today.
The poll, which was carried out on this website and presented two key questions to potential voters, determined that residents preferred voting in a youth contrary to past elections.
Kevin Andeta alias Nana was the most preferred aspirant with 31.30% of the 345 votes cast, followed by Erick Matsanza who garnered 20.58%.
Douglas Opijah scooped 11.30%, John Mukulo 11.01%, Violet Ananda 7.83%, Grey Moi 5.51% and Ikala Felix 4.93%. Dan Imbwaga and William Makhalanya got 1.45% each.
Dennis Manyengo got 1.16% while Philemon Siahi received 0.29%.
Others, 1.16%, voted that their candidates were not on the list while another 1.16% voted that they were undecided.
Ratings of Musa Wangila Makhapila‘s leadership
The poll presented the second question of how residents rated the performance of the incumbent MCA, Musa Wangila Makhapila, for the last 10 years he has been in office.
Of the total 157 votes cast, 60.51% rated his performance poor while 19.75% rated it average and 10.83% thought it was good. Those who voted ‘not sure’ were 8.92%.
