Ford Kenya Party leader and current Bungoma County Senator, Moses Masika Wetangula, has this morning been cleared to defend his Bungoma senatorial seat for the third time.
This is despite the promise he was given by Kenya Kwanza that he will be Speaker of the Senate if his camp forms the next government.
Speaking at the Bungoma County IEBC headquarters, Wetangula assured Bungoma residents that the county is in safe hands under him and Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, who is vying for the gubernatorial seat.
The former minister has urged people in the region to support the Kenya Kwanza Coalition headed by Deputy President William Ruto so that they can receive goodies if his camp forms the next government.
Lusaka, who was present, assured Wetangula that the whole of Western Kenya was behind him.
“Bungoma and the larger Western Kenya residents have a solid leader in you. We are very proud of you,” he said.
