Lugari MP Ayub Savula has made fresh accusations against Deputy President William Ruto and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, accusing them of trying to frustrate his efforts to get cleared by Moi University as required by the IEBC.
Savula, who is the running mate for Fernandes Barasa in the Kakamega gubernatorial race, was scheduled to present his nomination papers alongside Barasa on Monday at 11.00 am, but the process was delayed until 1 pm when Savula turned up late.
A source reveals that the two-term MP was stranded for the better part of Monday morning at the Moi University administration offices.
Upon showing up at the Kakamega IEBC offices later in the afternoon, the MP claimed that he had been blocked by riotous youths from accessing the university where he purported to have acquired his first degree and a Masters Degree.
The lawmaker said the process of acquiring his papers was frustrating since the university had confiscated them and getting them back proved difficult.
Fernandes Barasa of ODM, which is allied to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance of Raila Odinga, is facing of with Cleophas Malala of ANC allied to DP Willam Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
There is no love lost between Savula and Malala since the former decamped from ANC to DAP-K and announced unwavering rivalry for the Kakamega top seat.
