Some 26 days remain before Kenyans are spared from ideas of heaven, many of them imaginary, being peddled by politicians seeking elective seats in the August 9 General Election.
The latest to give voters a fancy offer is Lugari parliamentary candidate for ODM, Nabii Nabwera, who has promised primary school learners all over the constituency free meals in schools if elected.
Speaking in Mautuma Ward, the former Kakamega Chief of Staff said this is part of his socio-economic pillar standing on his manifesto.
“Let me assure you people of Lugari, especially parents, that my administration will provide a conducive environment for learners by ensuring there are enough classes to ease the congestion of pupils in classes. Additionally, I will provide meals for learners,” he said.
The candidate also promised to tarmac the road connecting Lwandeti through Lugari to Nzoia.
“We want to grow economically. It is through good roads that we will be able to offer opportunities to young women and men so as to allow a free flow of goods and services,” he said.
Mr. Nabwera is attempting a third stab at the seat after losing in the 2013 and 2017 general elections.
He was recently endorsed by outgoing Lugari MP, Ayub Savula.
