Ruto urges each Kenyan to plant 100 trees

The President targets 5 billion forest cover.

President William Ruto has called upon all Kenyans to scale up fight against climate change by planting trees, his target being 5 billion trees forest cover.

Ruto, while addressing residents of Kirinyaga during the commissioning of the Thiba Dam, said his administration is keen on combating climate change through planting enough trees.

“Water increment goes hand-hand-hand with conserving the environment. As a government, we purpose to plant five billion trees in bid to combat climate change,” the Head of State said.

The president asked parents to plant at least 100 trees as a way of celebrating their children’s birthday and urged all Kenyans to take up the challenge.

Ruto’s government is keen on lowering the cost of production to lower the cost-of ready made goods, contrary to spending money on subsidizing products like the pervious regime.
