Plans are at an advanced stage to set up a technical training institute in Webuye East, Bungoma County.
Speaking in a meeting that drew education stakeholders across Webuye East Constituency, area Member of Parliament Hon. Martin Wanyonyi said the Ministry of Education has already approved the establishment of the institution.
The first term lawmaker told the stakeholders that feasibility studies had shown that there was potential in the thickly populated constituency and the idea had come at the right time.
MP Wanyonyi further noted that the institute will offer chances to students from the region to persue their post secondary skills at the institute.
Webuye East boasts of a Kenya Meical Training Collegecampus as the only college in the constituency.
If launched, it will be the 6th higher learning institution in Bungoma County.
