Cleophas Malala, the newly appointed Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), is on a mission to transform the party into a mighty force, aiming to absorb all the other political parties in the Kenya Kwanza coalition like a mighty vortex.
During a public rally in Eldoret on Friday, the former Kakamega Senator boldly declared that it would be a dereliction of duty for Cabinet Secretaries to resist the advice to fold their parties into UDA.
Parties that form the Kenya Kwanza coalition are Ford Kenya, the Amani National Congress, Maendeleo Chap Chap, the Democratic Party, and the Farmers Party of Kenya, among others.
Malala fervently believes that UDA needs to have one unifying leader, and that leader is none other than President William Ruto, drawing inspiration from successful African political parties.
“It is time that we have one boss, and that boss is President William Ruto, we cannot have another commander. We want to build a strong party like the CCM in Tanzania or the ANC party in South Africa. You cannot sit in the cabinet and resist our plans to fold your party,” Malala said.
Malala admonished the Cabinet Secretaries who resist their plans to fold their parties. He believes that opposition to their plans would be tantamount to opposing the UDA party and its leader, President Ruto.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who accompanied Malala in the rally, echoed his call for a formidable political party with President Ruto at the helm, steering it towards success.
